Vintage pair of hand-carved hardwood Igorot busts from the Philippines, depicting a tribal man and woman. The Igorot people are from the highlands of Northern Luzon.Likely crafted between the 1930s and 1950s for tourists. Features detailed carvings of hair, hair baskets, and headdresses. Traditional pipe, hair band, and wooden/bone necklace are well-represented. Each bust is missing one earring (likely on the left ear).The Igorot were known as the last of the headhunters in the Philippines. These busts are made from hardwood and nicely polished.
